Week 7 overview

The time has come (cue the dramatic music), for Justin Herbert to TORCH the Jags. PICK HIM UP. I am telling you right now. Before the article. I picked him up on his bye week. That's how confident I am in him now. Not 6 weeks ago, but now I am confident he is the next big thing. Notice I didn't say Mahomes or Jackson. He is his own type. Mahomes is his own type, and Jackson is another breed. Herbert plays more traditionally with a pocket-presence like a statue, but with a flair of both Jackson and Mahomes. Anyway, enjoy guys.

Big game picks:

Eagles: 27 Giants: 23

This is the only interesting one I could find (other than the one below this and the Bears game). Like do we really expect the Broncos to be competitive against the Chiefs? (Maybe, who knows. Vic Fangio didn't get hired for nothing. But anyway, Carson Wentz will somehow burn the Giants because he has..... TRAVIS FULGHAM (I'm really high on him). The Giants did do some good things, but it won't be good enough.

Seahawks 23 Cards: 21

This will be a good one. The defense of the Seahawks can't stop anyone and my gut right now is telling me UPSET. But I have to see Kyler Murray not handing out gifts (ints) to the defense. Wilson will make sure he uses it wisely. And Murray must be accurate. Not completing 9/24 passes. Now he's probably going to make me look very dumb because 1) that defense is... let's say not the Legion of Boom anymore  and 2) it was probably a fluke.

Bears Pick:

Rams: 14 Bears 10 :(

The Rams are probably going to shut down Foles and that offense. And the defense is going to somehow keep it close like every game. But I'm not very happy with Nagy's playcalling. His best game was against the Bucs, and then he decided to be bad again. Like why? Just take what they give you. If they give you 5 yards every time, take it. Even if it takes you 15 plays, no one cares. We want TDs, not punts.

Fantasy must starts/pickups: (I'm really tempted to put Kyle Allen here, but I won't because the Cowboys and WFT are both pretty bad right now.)

Justin Herbert: He is too talented to be put down by a Jags defense if he can't be contained by the Bucs. And I hyped him up at the start too. So there. Moving on.

J.D. McKissic: He is a very good option especially in PPR leagues. the Dallas Cowboys have decided to win shootouts like real cowboys instead of a good defensive plan. So they decided to tell the players figure it out, and we will help the offense (which they don't seem very good at doing that either based on what the players are saying). And he did do pretty well against the Giants so there's no reason he should flop against the Cowboys.

Both QBs and WRs of the Lions and Falcons:

Matt Stafford and Matt Ryan are going to have a field day (I didn't notice they were both Matt until now). And Julio Jones (if he's healthy which is almost never these days), Calvin Ridley, Kenny Golladay, maybe Hurst, maybe Swift, and maybe Hockenson. Both defenses can't really play very good defense and both offenses are held back by their defenses. So, plenty of passing situations for everyone. Win win if you team wins, win lose if your team loses.

Fantasy don't start:

Derrick Henry:

I'm not knocking on his ability throw people back home where their mothers can make them some homemade soup and console them or his ability to make defensive backs look slower than a snail (or a NT). BUT, he is facing the Steelers. I bet you there will be one play where he shakes off a blitzing DB and goes for at least 10 yards. But, that might be it. I could be making the Challenger 2 cheetah mad and he's going to run me over.  BUT, he hasn't done well against good run defenses. So that's why.

James Robinson:

I love this man. He came from an FCS school (that wasn't a powerhouse), essentially got Fournette kick out, and is lighting it up. But, this Chargers defense is really good. Like really good. the Jags had a nice win early, but since then, it has fallen apart badly. And he's still done great, but won't do great enough. I would be fine with him going against most defenses, but not this one.

Either Bears or Rams offensive players:

This will be a defensive battle. Plain and simple. The Rams do have a great offense, but the Bears have bottled up Atlanta, Tampa, and the Panthers. Those are pretty good. I might start both defenses, but none of the offensive ones. The Rams have bottled up the 49ers (yes they were banged up, but still impressive). This one will come down to every single field goal (GO CAIRO SANTOS. HE'S WOKEN UP. THAT 55 YARD FIELD GOAL WAS BEAUTIFUL. Search it up).

Some interesting stories:

TUUUUUUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA: He's going to be starting. Yes they have a bye, but still. I'll write more next week, but for now, this is nice. AND..... see next week's post for a Herbert Tagovailoa (sorry if I spell that wrong) comparison.

Drew Locks return home: He says that he's going to be Darth Vader and come in and try his hardest (that's was paraphrased). It will be interesting. Patrick Mahomes vs the hometown kid who was from Missouri (yes Kansas City is in Missouri).

Dallas' historically bad defense: I've never seen a defense that is as clueless as Dallas'. They blow assignments left and right up and down (literally) on the defense allowing for chunk plays. The safeties are pretty clueless and the linebackers are going through the wrong gaps. My high school coach would be disappointed.

How will the 2 greatest minds in football one modern one very old do?: We shall see. Darth Belichick vs Shanahan.
