the 5 BEST position battles about to get underway

2009 NFL Black Logo | Michael Tipton | Flickr

The NFL is about to start training camps and there are going to be position battles everywhere. Even if the NFL doesn't play, these should be very intriguing heading into next year because they will essentially have the same roster. If the NFL does play, that would be nice and we can see the results. Anyway. lets get on with the list.

First... the Honorable Mention

Who will be the Bucs actual starting TE?

I know everyone is now going in the comments and say ARE YOU INSANE? It's Gronk. BUT. Hear me out. Even though Gronk is listed as the No. 1 TE, he hasn't played in a year, he has sustained a lot of injuries in the past, and he is joining a new system. However, he does have an advantage. Coach Arians scheme involves being aggressive downfield and what does Gronk to best? Go downfield and get it. On the other hand, OJ Howard is more familiar with the offense. Even though he had a down year.

5. Who will be the Colts CB2?

This is very very interesting. This battle is between Rock Ya-Sin and Xavier Rhodes and when I saw their stats, they were essentially the same in the preseason. Xavier Rhodes just had 1 more assisted tackle than Rock Ya-Sin. Kenny Moore also had similar stats to both of the corners I mentioned before. But, he is more valuable because he had 2.5 sacks and 2 INTs. If Rhodes can regain his Pro Bowl form (this Pro Bowl he made this year was bogus. I'm saying before 2019), he will get this job easy. But, if he doesn't, Ya-Sin will take the job because he is more experienced in this system.

4. Who shall replace the void left by OBJ?

The players here that are competing are Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton, and Golden Tate. When I personally look at this list, I say they are all good, but not OBJ. There is potential though. I would say Darius Slayton is winning this one. The stats don't lie. And they did have decent QB play (if you are reading this and aren't a Bears fans, you won't get how we see competent QB play). Jones wasn't bad by any means, just at average. Back to the main topic. I already say Golden Tate is out because at this point, he is at max a good WR 2 and an excellent WR 3. Shepard cannot be relied on consistently because of all of his injuries. Had he not been injured so much, he would have been the easy pick, but he got injured a lot. In fact, he had the least receiving yards out of the 3 here. Finally, my man Slayton. The 5th round pick proving he can do it in the big league.

3. Who will be the Ravens No. 2 WR

The Ravens honestly will be fine if their WR 2 is not the best. They are not built like the Chiefs where they must pass the ball. They are a Smashmouth run the ball team. Just look at their fullback. That's not someone you want to mess with. But, Mr. Jackson himself did say that he would pass more. He can't keep going for 1200 rushing yards every season, or he would have to retire at like 30 years old. Anyway, back to the receivers. This is a 4 way battle between Miles Boykin, Devin Duvernay, Willie Snead, James Proche. I would rule out Willie Snead and put him at WR 3. So that puts us at James, Devin, and Miles. I would then rule out Miles Boykin even though he knows what he's doing because he only got 198 yards and 60% catch rate. And so James vs Devin. I finally pick Devin because of his speed, hands, and collage stats. James Proche had similar stats, but worse catch rate and he was at a lesser school than Duvernay.

2. Who will be the Rams starting HB?

The Rams are kind of in a tight spot right now. Their salary cap space is very bad, so they can't even get a decent O-Linemen. There is a 3 way battle between Cam Akers, Darrell Henderson, and Malcolm Brown. I would already rule out Darrell Henderson because he wasn't very good for them when he was given the chance. Malcolm Brown was a teensy bit better, but not that much better. Cam Akers was lucky enough to play behind a really bad offensive line (one of the worst in collage), so he will transition pretty well to the Rams O-Line. And I name Cam Akers the starting HB.

1. Who will be the Bears starting QB

Now you may think I am biased because I'm a Bears Fan. But, if you ask many people what is the most dominant position battle, they will probably say Trubisky vs Foles if their own team doesn't have a good one. Now, back to the battle. I personally want Trubisky to win, but in a good way. And I want him to do good. When we look at the stats and earlier performances, I think that Trubisky will win. He has 2 good decent TEs to throw to and pretty good receivers. Foles has been very up and down in his career and I think Trubisky is motivated enough to beat him. This the end of the article. Thanks for reading. See you in the next one.

Who will win? Nick Foles or Mitchell Trubisky

The answer is: Both.  Why I think this is because both have not been really good ever except for Foles in the playoffs for some reason. They both were bottom 10 QBs in like almost every stat.  Foles:  Strengths- Has been in the West Coast system before (and been very good) Can run RPOs He is familiar with the QB coach Can be accurate when there are wide open receivers (we Bears fans adore that. Other people wouldn't understand). Really good in the playoffs Weaknesses- Can be bad with a new team as we saw earlier in his career He is coming off being injured almost the entire season and has never played a full 16 game season Even when he came back he was benched for Minshew (Love that man) Trubisky:  Strengths- He can run the ball pretty darn well if he's given the chance (Watch the Cowboys vs Bears game) He didn't throw as many interception as last season (I know this is stupid, but still) He can throw on the run well He has been in this offense for more time than Fol...

Player that are hated or are looked at badly for NO REASON

"Pigskin"   by  Eric Kilby  is licensed under  CC BY-SA 2.0 Sadly, there are those players. The players that catch a lot of flak. But's its the reason that they catch it is very sad. The reason is: there is no reason. They are hated for no reason. These players are hated because of something I can't tell why. People just think their bad. Anyway, at least we're here for them, so on with the list. Allen Robinson Can someone please tell me why people don't think he's good enough. Even LADAINIAN TOMLINSON himself said that the Bears should move on from him (slamming my face into my desk). People have no respect for this guy. BUT, you must respect him. He was a top 15 WR at the least last year. This year, I see him being a top 10 (not only because I am a Bears fan) because he will have a motivated QB that is trying to keep his job. If they're smart, they'll throw it to him a good amount. If his play doesn't tell you, then his rank in the league for ...

One person to root for on every NFC North Team

Since there are no major injuries because people can't even play with each other in this current period of time we are living in, we will talk about something fun.  The NFC North. My favorite division that has some of the best players in the league such as Khalil Mack, A-Rod, Dalvin Cook, and Kenny Golladay when healthy. It is also in my opinion one the most competitive except for when they play the Lions (sorry Lions fans). But there will be those players that are unknown to most people, yet have so much potential to be great or are really good and don't get the recognition. So lets hop into it. Photo by Dylan Buell/Getty Images Bears: JP Holtz You all know will get to know that I love this guy because he has the mentality that everyone needs to have. Hard work and determination. He is an impressive blocker, and he can execute screens and catch passes when given the chance. You might want to refer to the Chargers vs Bears game when Holtz lined up in the backfield. Mr. Montgome...
